Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Department Information

The School of Government and International Affairs is committed to excellence in teaching, learning, research, and service. We value and encourage engagement with the community at the local, national, and global levels. Our primary goal is to provide our students with the necessary academic and communication skills, knowledge base, and analytical abilities to understand political systems and critical issues, and to be involved citizens and high-performing professionals in their chosen careers. Through our various undergraduate and graduate programs and outreach activities, the faculty and students work together to engage in independent scholarship and professional development in areas such as domestic and international politics and policy, and public administration.

With more than 400 full-time faculty and 9000 degree-seeking students, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, the largest college at the university, prepares the next generation of leaders in a wide array of fields to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century and become contributing citizens in a global society. Job Summary

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a pool of open rank, part-time faculty positions in the School of Government & International Affairs for the academic year 2022-2023. These positions are on an as needed basis. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities
  • Teaching introductory political science classes, like POLS 1101 "Introduction to American Government" or POLS 2401 "Global Issues."
  • Teaching and working with a culturally and an ethnically diverse community.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Required Qualifications

An earned Master's or Terminal/Doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Political Science or related field is required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • An earned doctoral degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Political Science or a closely related field is preferred.
  • Experience teaching online or hybrid courses.
