City of Portland - Aquatics Instructors - On Call

Parks, Recreation & Facilities Department

The City of Portland Aquatics Division is offering a unique opportunity to make a difference in the Portland community as an On-Call Aquatics Instructor. Various shifts are available including mornings, days, afternoons, evenings and weekends. Aquatic Instructors are responsible for teaching various members of the community important learn to swim lessons and/or water aerobics classes. The ability to promote safety in and around the Portland pools is also desirable.

Required Skills & Experience:

Promising candidates will have strong communication skills.
Ability to promote safety and work well in a team environment.
Prior experience working with preschool children and youth is desirable.
Must hold current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Certification and must attach copies of certifications to your application.
American Red Cross Lifeguarding and First Aid/CPR/AED Certifications also preferred.

Salary:

Starting pay range: $18.00/hr.
