Job Summary:
The Resident Services Coordinator (RSD) - Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) Coordinator is a professional nursing position responsible for the completion of the RAI process. Work is done in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations and our established policies and procedures.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Develops and implements resident directed and focused care plans. Evaluates care provided to residents and makes adjustments as indicated per resident preferences.
Completes or ensures completion of RAI-related assessments.
Monitors documentation on assigned units to ensure accuracy, consistency and compliance with state and federal requirements. Coordinates the triple-check process with responsible parties.
Participates actively in the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement Committee and others as assigned.
Schedules tasks associated with the RAI per CMS guidelines in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
Educates staff with or without collaboration with staff development coordinator on documentation, assessment, RAI process, etc.
Completes, batches, submits and audits submissions to CMS, verifies acceptance and corrects as needed.
Encourages and supports participation in quality assurance/performance improvement and related activities.
Maintains, verifies, and analyzes PPS case mix and facility roster.
Identifies potential improvements to the RAI process to increase reimbursement, quality, and compliance.
Compiles or ensures compilation of resident data that supports the MDS and regulatory compliance such as medical diagnoses, vaccination status, etc.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience:
Graduation from an approved school of nursing with experience in gerontology and management preferred; unencumbered, current RN license in Maine.
Basic knowledge of state, federal, and CMS regulations related to long term care.
Current knowledge of the RAI and MDS.
Knowledge of Federal, State and Municipal rules and regulations connected to funding and operating Social Services programs and services.
Excellent communication skills including facilitation and presentation skills.
Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors and the general public.
Ability to supervise, educate, orient and mentor staff.
Demonstrated computer and software use skills/abilities.

Salary & Benefits:
This is a non union position, Band C44, with a starting annual salary of $80,652.
