Faculty position to teach on the Spartanburg campus.

The Department of Management, Entrepreneurship and Marketing (MEMS) in the George Dean Johnson, Jr. College of Business and Economics (JCBE) invites qualified candidates to submit applications for Assistant, Associate or Full Professor of Hospitality and Tourism Management. This is a 9-month, tenure-track position with a start date of August 16, 2026. The selected candidate will teach undergraduate hospitality and tourism management courses, or other undergraduate and business courses relevant to disciplinary expertise in in-person, online, and hybrid formats. The selected candidate will also lead the launch of the JCBE's new Hospitality and Tourism Management program including the development of lab/teaching space in a partner hotel located adjacent to the campus.

The AACSB accredited Johnson College of Business and Economics currently awards a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with majors in Accounting, Economics/Finance, Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Management, Marketing, and a Master of Science in Business Analytics. The College also offers minors in Business Administration, Business and Entrepreneurship, and Economics as well as a dual program with Landshut University in Germany. The Johnson College is located in a state-of-the-art 60,000 sq. ft. facility in downtown Spartanburg. Required Education and Experience:
Ph.D. in Hospitality, Tourism, or related field is required by the start date of the appointment, August 16, 2026. ABD candidates with a planned completion date by August 15, 2026, are welcome to apply.

To qualify for the rank of Associate Professor, candidates must meet the requirements for Assistant Professor, have at least five years of relevant experience after the completion of the terminal degree, and a record of excellence in teaching, scholarship and service that meets the College's criteria for promotion, to include at least three publications in indexed journals within the last five years.

To qualify for the rank of Professor, candidates must meet the requirements of the Associate Professor, have a minimum of nine years of relevant experience with at least three years' experience at the rank of Associate Professor, and a record of excellence in teaching, scholarship and service that meets the College's criteria for promotion, to include at least six publications in indexed journals with at least three of those publications in the last five years. A successful background check is required.
